When i bought my ipod touch a few months back it was pretty clear from the off that i would need a case to protect the back from scratching and getting damaged so i immediatley went online and had a browse through the MANY ipod cases on offer. And when i saw this pink and black diamante case on Play.com i fell in love and had to have it :)
PRICE: Around a fiver (P+P Free)
STOCKIST: Play.com, Amazon. (Ive also seen it on several little stalls in shopping centres etc, so i would shop around for best price)
INCLUDES: 1 ipod/iphone 4 case, x2 screen protectors and 1 screen cloth.
~ The Case~
The case is made of black plastic and fits the slim design of the ipod 4 perfectly. It has spaces for the volume control buttons and camera lense etc and even when its been bashed around in my bag the ipod never seems to fall out which i had thought might be a problem so i'm very impressed with that.
On the back there are black diamante crystals stuck on with a butterfly in the middle made of varying sizes of silver and pink diamantes. Above and below the butterfly there are swirly patterns with flowers in. These are made of very small gold diamantes and some large pearly looking circles in white and light pink
The actual pattern is really cute and girly and in my opinion looks like it would have cost more than £5. The design also looks exactly like it does in the picture which isn't always the case when ordering online, so thats a bonus.
~What I Thought~
As i have mentioned you cant fault the design of this case however the quality leave VERY much to be desired. Within about a week some of the diamantes had fallen off and after a month or so of use the edges of the pattern had started to curl under where it had been stuck on, and huge chunks of the diamantes have fallen off. I can still use the case (as i'm waiting for my other one to be delivered but it's taking a while) but it does look really tatty and cheap now so i purely use it to protect the back. I suppose you cant expect much for a fiver, and you do get what you pay for. But i had hoped for more from this case as i know of people with similar diamante cases that have lasted alot better.
For my birthday this year instead of asking for clothes and money like I normally would I decided to ask for something I had wanted for ages - a 4th gen Ipod Touch. Since I got it, it has barely left my hand and while I dont feel confident enough to review the actual iPod just yet I have no problem in writing about all the accessories Ive already bought to go with it - a girl can never have to many accessories for herself or her gadgets in my opinion hehe. This 'Diamante Butterfly Case - Itouch 4th Generation' was actually the first case that caught my eye for my iPod but for some reason I didnt get around to buying it until a few weeks ago - I was getting bored with my leopard print case and this one seemed like such a cute case to alternate that one with so I bought it straight away. And I think Ill be leaving this one on from now on - its definitely the best one Ive bought so far.
Price: Around £5 (+ P&P)
Stockists: FlashSuperStore @ Amazon - although MANY sellers offer this particular case as its one of the more popular designs. So this is very easy to find in most stores and websites.
Other Info: This promises to protect your iPod without hindering you using it, promises perfect fit and spaces around the camera, earphone hole, charger port and volume controls. Promises to look stunning and classy while remaining highly functional.
*Please note the case I bought did not come with an extra screen protector (GRRR!) but I did look around and most sellers DO offer a screen protector with this case. It all depends on where you buy it from.*
As the iPod touch 4th gen is very slim in design its a bonus for me that this case is also very slim as it will prevent dirt getting onto the back but it doesnt make the design any chunkier or harder to hold/use so it doesnt take anything away from the feel of this - and it just adds to the design. The case fits very easily onto the iPod - perfect fit in fact - without having to force it on or without it covering any of the buttons so the fit is as close to perfect as possible. All of the buttons on the sides are still clearly visible and easy to press - so you can still lock the iPod, change the volume etc so again this case adds to the design without making it any harder to use. The case isnt noticable from the front at all - you can see some gems around the sides but from the front it appears totally normal so again your screen isnt comprimised with any glittery bits - it might look a little different if you have the screen protector - which even though I dont own that I would recommend getting one as these screens get filthy so quickly and I assume they are very easy to break or split.
The back of the iPod is where you have the main images on the case - the large pink, white and purple gem butterfly in the centre with swirls around that and there are some small pearl flowers dotted around the case as well - I really liked the added pearl parts they are super cute! The case does look exactly like the image with this review so if your buying online you wont be disappointed - this looks just as girly and cute in real life and not too OTT at all. This is definitely one of the nicest iPod cases Ive ever seen - it is very feminine and cute but its not too OTT or tacky at all which is just the right amount of each I think. I can use this case all the time and never feel the need to change it which is very odd for someone who cant go a day without swapping my accessories around! It looks MUCH better than the plain (and fingerprint covered) back you have when you first buy the iPod anyway and I absolutely love it!
So far Ive found the quality of this case to be very good. Looking at it now I cant see any signs of damage or wear (and Ive had it on my iPod for around a month) and as far as I can see no pearls or gems have fallen off so far. The design looks much more expensive than it actually is in my opinion so for less than a 10er Im very happy - it costs next to nothing but it looks like it could cost the earth brilliant. And this one is much easier to remove and put on than my other leopard print case so I think I have to give this the full 5 stars.
I cant think of any issues Ive had with this case. Like the information said this makes your iPod look better without affecting it functionality so for me it doesnt everything it promises and stops my iPod from being covered in fingerprints all the time. Its a 5* case in my opinion and one I dont hesitate to recommend to any iTouch 4th gen owners.
Thanks For Reading.
