The Hama MP3 player case was purchased for a non branded MP3 player that had similar dimensions to an Archos MP3 player, I bought an actual Archos case but that had a built in speaker that added weight to the case and could not be used because of the incompatible MP3 player.
My Hama case cost £10 and was purchased from a local outlet specialising in accessories for MP3 players and smart phones.
The case is very simple but the simplicity is refreshing. It is a hard clamshell case with zip that zips through three sides and most of the fourth so it can be opened fully. My case is black but I believe other colours are available such as metallic grey.
Inside the case are two mesh pockets with each having an elasticated edge. You slide your MP3 player into one of the pockets and the other can be used for your earphones or charging lead. A plug will not fit in the case.
The MP3 player is held inside both pockets but does slide around in the pocket although has not fallen out at any time. I am unconcerned that damage will occur as the case is smaller in reality than it looks and I doubt such small scale sliding will cause scratching. Even with the slide the MP3 player is held tightly against the wall of the case as the mesh pocket is stretched so tight.
The wrist strap is an adequate length but unlike the strap on camera cases it cannot be tightened for added security. It is not a comfortable strap to have on my wrist and I am likely to remove it soon.
I have been happy with the Hama case and have continued to use it in spite of one corner being scuffed and damaged after it was dropped. This proves the worth of the case however as my MP3 player was inside at the time it was dropped and was undamaged as the case too the brunt of the drop.
