Advantages: tough sturdy good picture and sound

Disadvantages: a little bulky and heavy by todays standards

I bought this camera about five years ago (aiptek dv 3300) it was very cheap for what it can do. I soon discovered what a fine little camera this is, it is made of a tough robust plastic that has withstood many drops and knocks. The first time I dropped it I was standing on a wall,it fell about ten feet onto hard baked clay! it was still filming away when I recovered it. It has had a very hard life with me! if it was a woman I'd be divorced by now. It's been drenched in cider, tea,rain and best of all covered in black ink when I attempted to refill an ink cartridge,oh yes, Im also a Scrooge. Somehow I got sand inside it and decided to take it to bits to clean it.A bit of a mistake! beware if you try it,springs jump out buttons fall off,and I can assure you you will end up with one or two very small screws left over. Like myself it is in a very shabby condition now,scratched, ink stained and very neglected, but I have become very attached to it and it goes every where with me.This was a big help when someone ran into the back of my car with a pick up truck,causing my car to be written off, luckily I had old Aipy with me and filmed the fellow and his truck, when I finally got home that day and contacted my insurance, the number of the truck he wrote down for me didn't match any on their data base. I downloaded the s/d card from the camera and got the proper number, it was wrong by only one digit,but that could of caused me endless trouble, I did'nt think to look during all the fuss. Any how the camera is still going strong and its coming with me when I go out this aft.

Summary: I dont know if they are still in production, Iwould buy another one pronto.
