Disadvantages: power use is horrible

For a cheap camcorder,this is a good piece of kit,but what ever you do,don't forget to carry at least four replacement batteries with you,as it sucks up power like there is no tomorrow.For a novice this would be an ideal gift,It was easy to use,but don't expect to get top quality recordings,this is a starter camcorder,and with that in mind it will do the job.View screen is small,but image was very clear,has stablizer so if you have a shakey hand this helps a great deal,zoom is okay,and preforms well for its limited capabilities.Over all this mini camcorder looks cheap,but its big redeeming feature is how compact it is,put it in your pocket,and you could well forget that it is there.personally,I have very little experience with camcorders,so was very surprised at how much I enjoyed playing about with this one,maybe in the future it will push me to spend a little more and buy a better model,but there again,I might just stick with this one.
