Description: Model ID 2067B060AA / Canon DC 201 - Camcorder - Widescreen Video Capture - 800 Kpix - optical zoom: 30 x - DVD-R (8cm), DVD-RW (8 cm), DVD-R DL (8 cm) / The widescreen-ready Canon DVD Camcorder DC201 benefits from a powerful optical zoom lens and DIGIC DV II, Canon's most ... more
Canon DC 201 ... powerful video image processor originally designed for High Definition (HD) recording. A range of user-friendly features includes a Quick Start button and an intuitive menu system, easily navigated using a Joystick controller. The camcorder offers additional digital stills functionality, recording to disc.

This camcorder is optimized for high-resolution true widescreen recording. A wide 2.7" LCD and a 0.27" 16:9 color EVF (Electronic Viewfinder) allow users to compose and play back footage in the same dimensions that will be displayed on a wide TV set. It is then a simple process to finalize the DVD in-camera before playing it back in a compatible home DVD player. The camcorder can also be switched to standard 4:3 recording mode.

Designed for genuine one-handed shooting, controls are optimally positioned on the camcorder body. A Joystick at the back of the camcorder falls easily under the right thumb and is used for easy selection of a range of shooting features. The DC 201 also features Canon's Quick Start innovation.

It can take most camcorders several seconds to be ready to record after being switched on. With Quick Start, however, a camcorder enters Record mode almost instantly. With one push of the dedicated Quick Start button, the camcorder rests in Standby mode, conserving battery power. With one more push of the button, the camcorder is ready to record in approximately one second. Quick Start allows users to capture events they might otherwise miss - a child's first steps, for instance, or a match-winning goal.

DIGIC DV II was first introduced with Canon's flagship HD camcorder, the XL H1. Designed to handle the increased data rate of HD, this ultra-fast image processor is now found in camcorders across Canon's range. DIGIC DV II features advanced noise reduction technology that results in sharper, higher quality images. It also provides true-to-life colors that appear vivid and vibrant on the screen. With split path processing, video and photo signals are handled separately, allowing optimal color reproduction for each.

Compatibility with Dual Layer media (DVD-R DL) allows users to record more. Up to 108 minutes of video can be stored on a single disc, cutting down on the amount of times a shooting day has to be interrupted.

The DC201 offers consumers a wide range of choice!

Premium Review Canon DC 310 - Worth taking a snap at? (301 words)

I must admit when I first got this camcorder I didn't know where anything was or how to use it properly and took me a few days to get up to scratch. This camcorder is able to record DVD-R discs and can also rewrite DVD's too meaning you can record over old videos you may have on old discs as long as the discs themselves are RW (re-writeable) too. The camera has a 41 times zoom which means you can zoom in on objects further. I have used this function to zoom in and use photo mode to take pictures without the need of a digital camera. This camcorder also comes with an AV output which enables you to put the video you are seeing on your camcorder onto a TV screen live. For ...

The Canon MV650i is part of the MV600 range. It s the top model and is packed with loads of features. It s recording methood is Mini DV which produce fantastic quality film. The camera itself is very small and compact and very lightweight. It s silver in colour with light up buttons which you have a choice of colours to pick from to personalise it. The camera has a crystal clear 2.5" LCD screen to view or a moveable viewfinder. The Microphone is based at the front end of the camera and tapes are loaded via the bottom. One bad point about being bottom loading. The camera has numerous features. It boosts a 22x optical zoom plus 440 digital zoom. The 22x optical ...

Looks beautiful, good sound quality, image is great for the price, pocket sized, 7MP stills Screen is a little wobbly and the picture can appear slightly "digitized" on big screens. OK though
