Advantages: Cheap, and easy to use

Disadvantages: Not good quality

The gigigr8 DV182 is a basic video recorder which I got for under £20. It is on sale on amazon for £100, but do not buy it, as it is not that good, you are much better off with a different digital camera recorder. I would max price take this for around £15.

So, about the video recorder. Originally, my parent got this to give to my brother when he was still young, as it worked fine, but wasn't so expensive that if he broke it, it would be a big problem. The camera is made in china, and is made out of a cheap plastic, although the plastic itself has not broke. My brother broke the slot that holds the SD memory card in place, although this was through no fault of the camera.

The camera has a tiny little screen, not really for playbacks, but more of making sure that you have aligned the camera in the right place. The is a dial on the top for zooming in and out, and the power button and start recording button, and that is it. This camera is a basic camera, ideal for either people who want something on a budget, or if its someone who does not have a clue how to use confusing technology and all that.

The screen is a little touch screen if i remember rightly to allow you to rewind and play clips you have shot and so on.

The camera takes 2 double a batteries, and mine came with an SD card, which can easily be replaced with a bigger size one if you want to take long clips and so on.

Transferring the data from the camera to the computer is quite easy via a usb cable slot found on the back of the camera.

The build quality on this camera is not great. The cap, on the front of the lens is not held in place, and after putting it in your bag a few times or whatever, will fall off. The pictures and video is a bit grainy, but honestly, when i got mine for around £15, it was well worth the price in my opinion, because at the time, mobiles did not really have video features and the like.

So overall?
These days, i would spend as an absolute maximum £15, but honestly, i would not get it myself, unless it was around £10. This is a basic, entry level camera, which is really fun to use, and is really small and compact. It just falls down in robustness and quality.

Summary: Good for beginers, definatly not worht the £100 seen on amazon
