Purchased this to document my travels and to stop having to purchase a tape or card for recording. The ease of use is there, point shoot, USB, transfer. You can read the other reviews and see the technical spec but I will give you some of the pros and cons as a user below. Pros: Ease of use HDD recording USB interface clear view finder/display Intuitive buttons Good scene selector (sport, indoor, skiing, etc.) Price point The included editing software Uses a SD card as well for stills which can be slotted into laptops with SD readers Cons: Zoom button is sensitive so you have to be careful how fast you use it. In the past, I have always had camcorders that record to tape. I fancied getting a hard drive based camcorder because of the longer record times and the easiness of transferring the videos my PC. Knowing nothing much about camcorders, I just bought this one as it was the cheapest one in the shop at the time. The camcorder is reasonably small. It isn't as tiny as some I have seen, but it is compact enough to carry around without much effort. It is also light enough to hold up in hand for quite a while when recording.
