This is a relatively cheap camcorder available from Currys and many online retailers.
My husband actually won ours a year ago and we have only just got it out of the box! These retail at just under £200 and come with the relevent software to transfer the videos onto a PC or a lead to play them through the TV.
The camcorder comes with a set of instructions which I found quite diffficult to understand but Im not sure if this is just me as we havent had a camcorder before. I would have preferred to have a 'quick start' guide as I hate trawling through instructions for the juicy bits! In the end I put them down and tried to work it out myself. I did it in the end but there are certain features I still have no clue how to use. I have never had anything made by JVC before and wonder if the instructions are the same for all their products - overly complicated.
Once you get started its pretty much point and shoot (and zoom if you want). There is a screen to see what your videoing and for quick playback. This is pretty good quality and large enough to see what's happening.
When you playback on TV the sound quality isn't quite as good as I expected but then I suppose it isn't a particularly expensive piece of kit.
The battery seems to last quite a while on this although I haven't had another camcorder so have nothing to compare it with though. I would say you could use it for the best part of a day trip without it losing power.
Overall I'm glad we have this camcorder but if it broke I don't think Id be in a rush to re-purchase. For a camcorder expert this probably doesn't make the grade although the price matches that.
