accompanying manual was fairly user friendly for the novice. This instruction booklet is A5 size , only in English and 56 pages long . It refers to model numbers GR -D93 , GR-D73 , GR-D53 and GR-D23 . There are 5 pages of troubleshooting at the back . There is also the web link :- http://www.jvc.co.jp/english/cyber/ and for accesories http://www.jvc.co.jp/english/accessory/ After my husbands delight on opening his present we both had fun experimenting with the camera. As novices we had a laugh trying the zoom in and out, and focusing . My husband took family films during the holidays and film of our two dogs at the time, It is a very easy camera to operate ...

This camcorder boasts Digital Camcorder , camera and an mp3 player combo! It is however very hard on most pockets as it is usually priced in excess of 400 pounds, though bidding for it on eBay tends to yield much lower pocket damage. However if you are really into photography or just want some pro and easy to handle equipment to take snapshots for special occasions yourself, then this is a prime product for you. For those of you who dont understand the megapixel mullarky, its just really high picture resolution (5 megapixels) that is crisp and graphically magnificent for every possible picture. Ok, so mine isn't actually a 160, it's a 100 series, but on the basis that no-one else has reviewed any of the JVC mini DV camcorders yet, I thought I might as well share my views! I bought my DVL100 from Jessops 2 years ago - it was an ex-shop-display model, and as such was a snip at £399. It has a 10x optical zoom, and 100x digital zoom, has a 1394 i-link DV adapter, and a whole host of audio/visual connectors. It also has a side colour LCD screen for easy filming away from the eye, but you can also use the black & white view piece to save on battery life.
