Advantages: compact size, dv in/out, £740 ,Bargain !!
Disadvantages: feels fragile, nightscope labours, pricey spare bat's
Open the box and Wow!It really is that small.As a rooky to the world of DV cams i was pleased to find everything i neaded to get started in the box.An easy to comprehend user manual and rapid charger enabled me to be shooting footage within the hour.
Slide down the stylish,if a touch fragile,lens cover and with you find the buttons right where they should be.With the TFT screen open the gadgets and gizmos of this tiny camera amaze.With an array of digital effects at your disposal,all in a windows type drop-down menu,the fun begins.Zoom,Fade,Slide,Wipe-All new to me but within minutes i was George Lucas!
A little time exploring the camera revealed a vast selection of effects,Shutter speeds and NightScope capabilities.
This baby is so clever it even has a built-in digital stills camera with removable memory card.I found the pixal resolution more than adequate for downloading to my PC.
With DV in and out i can now edit footage and transfer back to the camera via the DVP's firewire port.Simple!.
Sound quality is good although wind noise can irritate when filming outside,but with MP3 files a download away you can edit out any unwanted noise.
This camera has opened up a whole new digital experience to me and i recomend this cam' to anyone.At under £750 on the internet this beauty is worth every penny!

- 10/07/02 I paid over £1200 for a digital video camera, not unlike your one, but a Sony.
Anyway, you need to explain the features a little better for better ratings, more information on the use of the camera, charging time, a bit of detail about the features etc etc.
