Advantages: Great Quality in Low Light, so many features and pure quality

Disadvantages: Non

The DVX100 has been replaced by the DVX102 but many of the features are still the same...So I will Describe the DVX102...The DVX102 Retails for about £2400 but can be found 2nd hand by respectfull owners of a forum of the same name. An absolute godsend on info about filmaking and about this beautiful Camera
The Ergonomics of this camera are perfect. there are two zoom toggle switches, one on the top handle for when you are shooting close to the ground and on where your hand is snug when holding in a normal fashion, perfect for your fingers.
In addition you can control the speed of the zoom.
You have the option of filming in 25P which is Progessive and ideal if you want a film look.
Search dvx films online and you will see the quality for yourself.
The DVX also has ND Filters built in with 10x optical zoom, manual and auto focus, manual and auto Iris.
More features are the Scene File settings on a dial easily programmable to store your film look settings.
I was able to make a sunset setting on an overcast dull day.

The camera boasts a 1/3 CCD as Opposed to a CMOS Sensor on some other cameras...
The 3 CCD's mean that each of the large sensors records its own color Red Green or Blue...
This Larger sensor than the average Consumer camera's of approx 1/6 Inch CCD means it is very good in Low Light.

Summary: If you are looking for a great camera for independant filmaking then this is the one
