The picture is good quality once you get the hang of it, we watched a DVD we made of our daughter and it starts off dark but by the end it was a lot better as we had gotten used to it. I bought this camcorder online in 1999. It cost me £600 and was priced at £900 in Dixons. The main features I was looking for at time were: 1. Brand reliability 2. Digital format 3. LCD screen The slightly bigger size did not bother me much. I have taken it abroad and so far have recorded over 20 mini Digital Video cassettes.
