Advantages: Works with a Mac, SDHC cards are becoming very affordable, great HD Quality

Disadvantages: Controls a little fiddly if you have big fingers.

I have owned this camera for just over a month now, and despite having some issues with the memory card to start it now works fine and I am very pleased with it.

Firstly if you are a mac user, this camera works great with iMovie, and so I hear Final Cut, too. Many camcorders are PC only, so if you have a mac and are shopping around be careful. With the HDC-SD5EG-K its as easy as opening iMovie and clicking 'import from camera'

The camera itself is easy to use, the wide LCD display is clear for shooting, and the menu functions appear here too. The only thing I would say is that the joystick used to navigate is a little bit fiddly, but that could just be because I have large hands. Also the camera is pretty tiny and doesn't fit comfortably in my hands at least. However I wouldn't be put off from this camera at all, it is a great price for a HD camcorder and have made some good movies of my recent travels.

One word of warning, I was tempted into buying a cheaper memory card off ebay which turned out not to be a SDHC card, just an 8GB SD card, so I recomend getting a brand you recognise.
