I am a big fan of Panasonic equipment. I have owned quite a few things from the Panasonic range and it is a brand I trust and feel I can rely on. For this reason, whenever I am looking for a new piece of kit that is electrical, I always find myself looking towards the Panasonic range first and foremost. It was for this very reason that my camera I decided long before I bought it was also going to be a Panasonic. After looking up a few different models I finally decided on the Panasonic HDC-SD900.
This fantastic handheld digital camcorder retails at around the £500 plus mark but I got mine for £449 from Ebay. This particular model appealed to me as it has high definition screen, which is what I was after, it also has 3.05 megapixels and the difference from non high definition cameras is really remarkable. It also has an impressive 12x optical zoom. The quality of this camera is brilliant and I am more than pleased with it and the quality of the output.
The picture qulaity is second to none, as is the sound quality. It is so simple and easy to use and navigate and it barely needs the instruction manual as it's all quite self-explanatory. The remote control can be a little fiddly and I find I have to press down quite forcibly on the buttons and direct it EXACTLY at the screen, but this aside, I can find no fault with the device at all.
The camcorder has some brilliant features, considering the price and they are really impressive. There is an optical zoom which is of excellent quality and also the option of a twelve time focus. Last time we used this was for a major family holiday to the States and it was never out of my hand. As it has an impressive memory size it was also very easy to transfer all of our family photos and videos onto our HD TV. Once back from our holidays we sat around our TV and were not only able to watch our videos of our holiday but it was easy to set it up to show a slide show of photographs too, which the little lad loved. I also like the fact that the battery in this camcorder seems to last for ages but if it does run down it's simple and easy to charge. I did, however, also purchase at a later date, a charger for the car lighter and I found this a useful additional device.
This camcorder also has a motion sensor detector, which I personally find quite an appealing feature, but using this unfortunately does slightly lessen the quality to 2.53 megapixels and a three times zoom (when in motion), however, I think this is to be expected, really.
Overall, I cannot really fault this camera at all. We have used it a lot since we have bought it and not just for family holidays, but for weddings and days out etc. It is light and portable and easy to transport around with me. The carrying strap comes in handy too, or course. I thoroughly recommend it and have nothing negative to say about it.
I bought this product for my boyfriend last month for his birthday. Bought at half price from Currys, I also purchased the cover from them at just2.50/month which allows me to get product placement and is a contract cancellable at any time.
I chose a Panasonic as we had just purchased a Panasonic HD television and were very pleased with both the product and the aftersales, the fact this camera was on sale also swayed me!
I was very impressed with this camera at first use. For the price I paid, its quality was secondary to none. Very impressive. My boyfriend still to this day thinks it cost a fortune!
It has high definition screen and along with the 3.05 megapixels the difference from non high definition cameras is astounding. It boasts a12x optical zoom, of really good quality, and the output is not as distorted as you would expect with a camera for this price.
We bought a 16gb card with this so can store 10hours of HD video. The battery life supports this and is helped by the accessories you can buy to charge such as an in car charger etc.
The actual device itself is very light and quite small in size which is handy for carrying around discreetly and the sleek black colour is very stylish and appealing. The handheld strap is a comfy fit and adjustable depending on hand size. It is for either gender, I would not say this is particularly male or female unlike some styles you can encounter, and I would say that both my partner and I enjoy its use equally.
This is able to link up to my HD television and produce some exception on screen footage. The quality id immense, and with our small child, provides memories I will treasure forever.
This is not the first Panasonic product I have purchased and it certainly will not be the last! For the price you pay this digital camcorder provides more than enough and exceeds well over its expectations.
The features are second to none considering the price bracket that the camcorder falls into and I was very pleased with this product. It has high definition screen and along with the 3.05 megapixels the difference from non high definition cameras is astounding. The option of a twelve time focus for the optical zoom is really good quality and the output is not as distorted as you would expect with a camera for this price.
The memory size is good and it is easy to transfer photos and videos from the camcorder to other devices so the actual storage space isn't that relevant but obviously if you want to have coverage from a holiday or a trip then you will have to regularly keep an eye on this. The battery life is good and it is very easy to regularly charge and you can buy accessories such as a charger for the car lighter adapter and speakers to amplify any sound from videos etc. It is also very easy to hook up to a high definition television and watch slide shows and videos on that.
The actual device itself is very light and quite small in size which is handy for carrying around discreetly and the sleek black colour is very stylish and appealing. The handheld strap is a comfy fit and adjustable depending on hand size.
The motion sensor was an interesting feature which slightly lessened the quality which was expected and it lessens to 2.53 megapixels and a 3 times zoom when in motion. However, the attention to details in the colours is really amazing and very impressive and allows the viewer to receive a top quality video or picture.
The 3MOS system has 7.59 million effective motion image pixels (2.53 megapixels x 3). This sensor separates the light received through the lens into the three primary colors - red, green and blue, and processes each color independently, to offer images with significantly better color quality, detail and gradation than 1MOS sensor system.
