Panasonic NV-GS5 ... smallest Palm-style DV camcorder. It is ultra-compact and ultra-portable at 470 cubic centimeters, 81% smaller than its predecessor, the NV-DS88. Its rounded shape and light weight make it easy to hold and operate. In addition, the camcorder's 'Free-Style Grip Belt' has a two-way design, either as a grip belt, or a strap for easy carrying. The digital camcorder has a 2.5", 112, 000-pixel LCD monitor, 10x optical zoom lens (500x digital zoom), and 800, 000-pixel CCD. The NV-GS5 records on a Mini DV tape. It captures megapixel still images on an SD Memory Card, and also allows MPEG4 recording on an SD card with monaural audio for a maximum of around 65 minutes in normal mode. It also allows up to four hours of audio-only recording on an SD Card, with playback through the camcorder. The model's 'Free-Style Remote Control' makes it simple to take low-angle, high-angle and fixed-position shots using a tripod, with fingertip operation of start, stop and zoom for easy handling. Its ergonomic design makes it easy to operate, whether you are left or right handed.

Color Nightview ensures color images even in dim lighting. A slow shutter speed combines with unique digital processing to boost sensitivity by 25 times compared with normal mode. The Smart Wind Cut sensor system eliminates wind noise and maintains the integrity of the original sound USB terminal. By connecting the camcorder to a PC with the USB cable, still pictures recorded on the SD Memory Card can be uploaded directly to PC. The DV In/Out terminal allows inputting of DV footage from other DV equipment or computer. In addition, there is an AV In/Out terminal for inputting existing video scenes recorded in conventional analog video formats. This allows users to dub their analog films onto a DV cassette. ArcSoft PhotoImpression software allows the user to easily retouch or add special effects to images. It also includes a variety of brushes, frames and shapes for enhancing any photo.
