Panasonic DOESN'T Care (Panasonic PV-DV950)

On August 13, 2002 I purchase a PVDV952. On it's first day of use on October 3, 2002, after only one hour of recording, it completely died. After sending the camcorder on October 4, 2002 to the required Panasonic repair center, five states away and having to pay my own shipping and insurance, I did not here from Panasonic for three weeks. I called them and they said they were waiting on a part. They could not tell me what part or what was wrong with the camcorder. On November 1st the camcorder arrived with a broken lens cap and the sharp piece of lens rolling around infront of the lens during the entire shipment. The interior, not the exterior, of the box was demolished. They sent no diagnosis with the camcorder, but stated that they replaced the CBA. I called Panasonic right away and they said they would call me the next business day. Three weeks later I continue to call Panasonic and never get a person on the phone. Of the three phone numbers they list for US customers in their warranty manuel. Only one actually works and that is a long distance number. My business uses this camcorder and since I've had it, it has only worked for one hour. This $1500.00 piece of equipment has cost me more money in time lost than I originally paid for the camcorder. I do not trust this piece of equipment and I would never buy Panasonic again.
