Panasonic NV-DS28EG ... would be nice as would stereo sound that I could add soundtracks to. These were my basic requirements, anything else was a bonus. It s worth pointing out that there are some features that really weren t important to me, principally these were digital effects such as scene transitions, colour alteration and other special effects as it was my intention to add these on the PC if required. The Panasonic NV-DS28 fits the bill perfectly. Recently launched, it is a MiniDV camera that boasts a 15x optical zoom, stereo sound and DV-IN/OUT (this is the difference between the DS27 and the DS28, the DS27 only has DV-OUT). Panasonic NV-DS11 ... have had our NV-DS11 for a year or two now and it has proven to be an immensely capable beast. We originally were looking at Analogue camcorders but having drooled over the magazines and reviews it was quite obvious Digital was they way to go (if you could afford it). Fortunately an excellent special offer at Jessops allowed us to stretch to this unit. As well as an excellent colour viewfinder, it also has a pop out colour LCD screen which tends to be used more often and is well worth considering on any camcorder. Panasonic NV-DS25 ... camcorder for a long while now, but there are so many on the market it was quite mind boggling. 8mm, Hi 8, DV oh it left my head in a spin. So one afternoon we took a quick visit to one of the big electrical retailers, had a play with all the camera's they had for me to look at and I tried about 18. The man behind the counter didn't have much to say, he just left us to it and the Panasonic came up trumps.
