Advantages: Good fo amateurs

Disadvantages: PC/Mac incompatability problems

We have all heard those hackneyed phrases You Get What You Pay For and Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware), I think. Sometimes, despite a rather jaunidiced advertising slant on this most cynical of phrases, we find an exception to the general rule.

This actual contraption is well worth a look, especially if you buy it knowing that it is almost certainly the cheapest gadget on the market at this point in time, with all the concomitant meaning attached to that phrase. Many of these devices feature a separate menu type button, and this is no exception, although a bit unwieldy to figure out at first. Aren't they all?? Nonetheless most of the basic features that you want are there so that you can record those precious moments for posterity. Material wise, the cam is made of what is often euphemistically termed 'recyclable materials' (code for plastic) but, what the heck, it still does the job.

The cam is easy to use, seeing as it fits snugly into your hand like most latter generation cams these days, thereby intended primarily for the amateur user (like me, in other words!) and is easy to store in your bags if you're planning on taking the thing to Lanzarote or wherever. When you get back, suntanned and refreshed, you can re - live your happy moments by transferring the data to your PC, although there are some question marks about compatability with Mac users rather than MS Windows devices.

The thing is, this cam is very light, reasonably user friendly, and it won't cost the earth (in either re - cyclable materials, OR cost), as you can pick this up for just less than a hundred quid. Only just, though. Be aware that, as I wrote above, you get what you pay for, and this thing won't be as all - singing and - dancing as a much more expensive device. But, to repeat - it's okay for amateurs and fairly rudimentary use. It won't do Star Wars Revisited for you.
