The Sanyo VPC-CA6 Xacti is a great little sports camera. I have used the camera for making films although that isn't what it was designed for. It's weather proof, meaning a little rain or snow won't damage it. It has an SDHC card and can take up to 6 megapixel photos. The video Resolution is maxed out at 640x480 at30fps and the lowest setting is 176x144 at 15 fps.
The battery lasts about 1-1 1/2 hours, although playback mode tends to use a lot of charge. It is a pistol grip style camera, although it sadly has no tripod compatibility. The menu system isn't overly complicated, and it's controlled by a small joystick. The camera has a 5x optical zoom, and zoom is controlled by a small bar between the 'photo' and 'movie' buttons. Like most of Sanyo's camcorders, it's a dual camera, which basically means that photo and video have separate buttons. It is really simple to use, my 6 year old sister was perfectly able to use it! All in all, it's a great little gadget, however it will leave more tech savvy users wanting more; it give me the feel of something to take on holidays. 4/5.
This 6 mega pixel digital camcorder is very small and compact and is very attractive. its very quick and easy use. ive had this camera for the last 11 months and never had a problem with it even after falling over (slightly intoxicated) with it and dropping it several time and still works perfectly without a hitch. the only downside to this camera is that beause it is quite an unusual camera which can be used for both video and pictures i use mine alot for normal pictures aswell but if i give the camera to someone to take a picture they often don't know where the capture button is to take a picture and so it can sometimes be a bit of hassle and a bit annoying but this is the only down side apart from this it is a very good easy to use camera which is very stylish and compact.
