For a camera costing around £250, this is an absolute bargain!
At full HD 1920x1080 and at 60p/60i frames, the quality is amazing when played back on a big HD screen.
Its really easy to set up out of the box, just adjust your settings to what your happy with and start shooting. I would highly suggest getting at least a few big SD cars, maybe 32gig if your going to be using the best setting.
While recording, you can also take still pictures simply by pressing the still button, although while recording the still is only 2MP where as when not recording the quality of the still is 8MP.
Transferring of the videos and stills is simple, just plug in the supplied USB cable and select card reader and your off and away. Alternatively you can connect the camera directly to your TV using the supplied HDMI lead.
The battery life is quite good at around 3 hours.
The only down sides about this camera which I have found is that the stability is a bit of a let down while recording, if your zooming and recording then the picture will be all over the place, this is of course easily overcome by using a tripod. Recoding while not zoomed isn't to bad.
Also the sound recording is stereo, not 5.1, this wont be a problem for most but I thought it might be worth a mention.
The Sanyo VPC-WH1 is nothing less than amazing! Although quite an expensive product it has the ability of a camera as well as a video camera so covers any need to capture your memories; all with the added bonus of being HD! Great graphics and picture quality as well as lots and lots of fun! I was a little cautious, although the camera being waterproof, to take it under the water it just looks so professional and expensive to put it in water was a big leap! Underwater vision is also great, we brought this product for our first holiday abroad with our cousins and now we have memories to cherish forever. The camera connects easily to the television for instant feedback, coming in a variety of bright fun colours the colour didn't fade or coating break off in water even the complex swimming pool with all its chemicals! Even underwater the sound still works and the visual panel flips around and folds in so that you can see what you are filming with ease, we really enjoyed using this and are so happy with the quality of our pictures and films; it was so simple to use that even my youngest cousin of 8 was strolling around making films and taking pictures!
