Advantages: viewcam format is ideal for u/water housing

Disadvantages: lack of external microphone input

An excellent camcorder for which I made my own u/water housing. Produced great pictures even 35 metres down. The viewcam format makes for a compact housing with the screen fully visible, so it is really easy to use under water. After being bashed about on dive boats for several years it's still working with no problems. I am currently looking to upgrade to hd, and I would love to buy an updated equivalent. Lack of an external microphone input is bit of a problem.

Summary: surpassed camera/housing combos costing 4 times as much
