Advantages: Value for money, Reliable, Easy to use
Disadvantages: Low zoom level
The Sharp VLAH131H is a very simple yet extremely effective camcorder. It has all the basic features one could hope for, with easy operating controls, a good design, and excellent recording capabilities. I would recommend that any potential purchasers buy the VLAH131H rather than any cheaper alternative from Sharp, as this has the Hi-8 recording format, which nearly equals the quality of digital picture and audio quality. This camcorder is one of the best for self recording. The screen and the lens section are joined via a pivotal system, which means the LCD screen can be rotated back to face the user; so you can see yourself being recorded on the screen! The LCD screen looks bigger in reality than the stated 3? and gives a clear picture of what?s being recorded. When you have recorded a scene, you can use the camcorder as a VCR and play it back, with brilliant sound and picture quality. You can easily link the camcorder to the TV to see the playback on a larger screen, or link it to your VCR to record on a conventional tape. I believe that this is one of the most practical camcorders on the market today, and would certainly recommend it to anyone. Be sure to shop around before you buy, in some cases I noticed price differences of over £40.00!

- 03/04/03 Hiya and welcome to dooyoo ;)
This is a good first op, but you will find you get better ratings and therefore more reads in the long run if you include a bit more detail. It's good to have a read around the site to get an idea of the level of detail people expect. Don't forget to rate whilst you're at it!

And most importantly - have fun here!
