Sony Handycam DCR-PC103

*Introduction* My Dad bought this Sony Handycam a while ago now. It has come in very handy for a number of things, everything from recording family occasions to some of my school projects. We have also let friends borrow the camera to record their parties and take abroad with them. Everyone who has used it has said it is a wonderful video camera and that they would definetly consider buying one, or something fairly similar, of their own in the future. I will be honest with you the reader and declare that my knowledge and know-how when it comes to video recorders/camcorders is very limited. If you give me any other electronics product and ask me to use it or ...

I have recently seen it in John Lewis for £999. Be very aware that to do justice to MicroMV (Sony's version of MPEG2) you basically need to buy into the Sony way of life (aka VAIO). I made the mistake of thinking that Pinnacle Studio DV+ Version 7 could deal with this..well, not even Version 8 does in truth, with no ability to export back to the camera, once you have finished editing. This really blighted our experience of this format, as did Sony's version of Firewire, which, unlike the Mac, does not allow either for recharging. I used the dismal Sony MovieShaker software on a brand new NEC 1.7Ghz Athlon and Carrera 2.2 Ghz Athlon (the latter fitted with the ...
Sony Handycam DCR-PC110
A MUST BUY! (400 words)by - written on 16/05/01

This is the second 1 mega pixel camcorder from Sony . The PC110E is a very small, light and compact camcorder and has a solid feel about it. It is held by the palm strap attaching to a small plastic pistol grip. This arrangement takes some getting used to and, to ensure steady shooting, its often necessary to use your left hand for added support. There is also a, Carl Zeiss lens which is much easier to use than the menu selector on other cameras. Other features are the zoom rocker, a still picture button, contorls for infra-red night shooting and a dual function button. It is a very easy camera to use as on the right- hand side these buttons are within reach of your ...
