Advantages: cool features

Disadvantages: short tapes size

I bought this DIGITAL 8 camcorder a while ago and i am quite pleased with it because of its many features like the night-shot and the DV port (I. LINK?) where (software needed) you can record on hi-8 tape or straight to the computer via the PC's FIREWIRE port.
It has 20x Optical and 80x Digital Zoom
A Digital Photo Mode, which again can be extracted with the I. LINK? port, this feature records for 7 seconds al still picture and if you wish sound in the background.
Night Shot with Slow Shutter, now this is amazing, it is true infrared night viewing! I?ve tried this on our local field, where I stood at the bottom, and my friend stood at the top, i could see him very clearly, this is good for viewing things in pitch black as well as low light viewing.
Also I found the ergonomics of this camera quite good, as all the buttons are easily reached, even in low light.
Also with this camera, you can play your old 8MM tapes, which is quite useful for people upgrading from 8MM or HI8 cameras.

Apart from Sony re-calling the battery it has been fine I recommend this to any prospective buyer!
a superb alternative for people who don?t want pay £10 a shot for the new DV tapes but don?t mind only 60 min per tape
