Disadvantages: No Tape, No case, Short Battery Life

This is a superb camera at a reasonable price, however it is no longer shown on the Sony UK website. This probably means that it has been superseded.
The picture quality is excellent and the software (Pixella) supplied with the camera is very useful, provided you have a reasonably fast PC, or Mac, with a large hard disk.
The only minor complaints I have are:-
The camera does not come with a case, or more importantly a tape. In my case I managed to persuade the salesman to throw in a tape as part of the deal.
It always pays to bargain.
The software takes some getting used to, but once you've mastered it you'll have great fun.
