Optical Sensor Type - CCD - I will have to look that one up too Total Pixels - 800 ,000 - The playback is perfect as far as I can see but I expect you can get more pixels for more money elsewhere. Optical Sensor Size - 1/4" Min illumination - 0 lux - Adio input support included. Digital zoom - 120 x Recording speed - sp & lp, now I know that one, short play and long play, I use short play because there seems to be a little less quality on long play. I am very pleased with it. I got it v cheap from an online shop at £440. All the functions, features and quality that you would expect from Sony come with this camera including a 2.5" LCD screen, nightvision and cheesy effects such as sepia tone which gives your footage that authentic victorian camcorder look. It's got too many functions actually - I hate those cheesy built in effects. This camera uses the Digital8 system which is unique to Sony. It records digital information the same as the more expensive miniDV cameras but it uses Hi-8 tapes which are cheaper and more easily available than miniDV format. I bought a Sony 80x Digital Handycam Camcorder; it uses Hi8 Digital cassette tapes. The model I bought has a colour LCD monitor, which you can use during recording and playback, and when having problems recording kids, you can turn it 180 degrees and the kids can actually see themselves the right way up in it, it really fascinates my kids. The screen has a volume control and the sound is very clear, even on the highest setting.
