Everything i bought before or after(ie. Canon legria HF S10 $1600 what a heap of s..t)was rubish.Tell you what, this camera takes a very very clear picture from close as 10 centimeters to far as 50 meters when you zoom in.It has more features than most videocameras under $2000 today(in year 2012)It has a black&white view finder where you can stick your eye on,or not and no one can tell if you are recording or not + uses very little power,a feature I have not seen on any camera for years!Makes no noise at all when you turn it on or off(unlike todays junks going off&on with big bing-bang,clip-clap noise notifying every one within 15 meters that your camera is on)

Feast your eyes on Digital8 pictures. Bask in Digital8 sound. And enjoy the show on Sony's 3-1/2 Inch SwivelScreen Color LCD Monitor of the DCR-TRV520 from Sony.

DCR-TRV520 achieves stunning picture quality, with up to 500 lines of horizontal resolution and records high quality 12-bit digital stereo audio. Digital 8's recording pattern allows digital recording on affordable 8mm or Hi8 tapes. Built-in Digital Still Camera with Memory Stick allows you to store still images in digital format at 640x480 resolution in Sony's new Memory Stick memory. 12-bit/16-bit PCM Digital Stereo Audio Recording offers a choice of either a single 16-bit/48kHz stereo audio track for DAT-quality recording, or two 12-bit/32kHz stereo tracks for CD sound quality. To make sure you get the maximum benefit from each charge, Sony's InfoLithium batteries have no life-shortening "memory effect." To keep you informed of remaining power, Sony's AccuPower meter spells out remaining battery time in minutes on the camcorder's LCD Monitor or Viewfinder. Another thing you don't need to worry about is holding the camcorder perfectly still. Sony's SteadyShot system uses sophisticated motion sensors to remove unwanted picture shake. With Sony's Hyper-Precision CCD image sensors, you're not sacrificing image size or picture quality. Super NightShot Enables you to shoot subjects up to 3 meters away in total darkness. Sony Digital Handycam camcorders record audio in the digital format, which gives you the power, clarity, and accuracy you've become accustomed to from compact discs. Control L (LANC) Provides two-way communication between the camcorder and other video devices. When you're out shooting the action, the last thing you want to see is the dreaded flashing battery indicator - the sign that you've got no power left. That's why Sony cut power consumption and extended battery life. Forget about cables, wires and adapters. Sony's Super LaserLink system uses infrared light to make a wireless connection from your camcorder to your television. Just use the transmitter in that is built-in to the camcorder together with the optional receiver. The Super LaserLink System features a transmission range up to 8 meters.
