Sony Handycam DCR-TRV720Super NightShot enables you to shoot subjects up to 3 meters away in total darkness. Sony Digital Handycam camcorders record audio in the digital format, which gives you the power, clarity, and accuracy you've become accustomed to from compact discs. Control L (LANC) Provides two-way communication between the camcorder and other video devices. When you're out shooting the action, the last thing you want to see is the dreaded flashing battery indicator - the sign that you've got no power left. That's why Sony cut power consumption and extended battery life. Forget about cables, wires and adapters. Sony's Super LaserLink system uses infrared light to make a wireless connection from your camcorder to your television. Just use the transmitter in that is built-in to the camcorder together with the optional receiver. The Super LaserLink System features a transmission range up to 8 meters. |

Rating:
them higher than other makes of video camera they review..mainly for image quality but Panasonic no longer do a camera with proper full IR night vision..so I decided to go Sony . Very compact compared to previous panasonic and I was eager to try out the 40 times zoom lense! The battery charges whilst still attached to the camera which is good. The overall image quality is not a good as my previous Panasonic and the IR setting not as powerfull either. The 40 times zoom is impressive if you can keep steady enough otherwise you won t see a thing because of the shaking. There is a steady shot setting but this doesn t help much. The touch sensitive screen is what you ...

Rating:
it is quite expensive for a camcorder but the quality of the image is top notch. It uses a Carl Zeiss lens with 10x optical/120x digital zoom and has a 800 ,000 pixel CCD which gives a superbly clear and crisp image. Ok ,so if you compare it with the top range prosumer cameras then the image can sometimes look grainy but within this price range this is the best image you are likely to get. There is a 2.5" coulour LCD screen which gives is great for playback of tapes although it does tend to drain the battery. The battery life is not spectacular, when using the LCD screen expect it to last less than an hour. Spare batteries for this model are also very expensive. ...

Rating:
excellent with the Sony InfoLithium range. The down side is the high cost of miniDV tapes and their 1 hour SP recording time. In that respect Digital8 is better, but means a bigger machine. This one fits in a waist bag. The lack of Memory Stick (for RAM based stills capture)was not a prime concern to me as a dedicated digital ...
