Advantages: cheap and easy to use

Disadvantages: dvds can be unreliable and difficult to copy video to PC

Found this camcorder very easy to use the controls are very user friendly. Single record stop button and zoom in and out toggle switch. You have the option to use the viewer or the pull out the LCD screen whilst recording.

The LCD screen can be flip around 180 degrees to allow playback and editing of the stored clips.

Video quality is not bad for the 800k pixel sensor, it does struggle in poor light though. The photo snap feature is poor resolution.

All video is stored on mini dvd disk, they are 1.5Gb and hold about 30mins of footage, you can get double sided ones which helps a bit.

I had big problem trying to get the video on to my PC to back up and I lost full dvds with the disks going faulty and being unable to read. Very unreliable I don't use it any more going to get a hard drive base camera.

Summary: Would go for a hardrive based camcorder

A bit brief (hence U and not VU) but some handy info here.

I agree with you about the transfering of the discs onto a PC its a nitemare, although there are some softwares out there which can help with that. Good review x
