Used one of these HD cameras for my university assignment. I borrowed it from the Media Department in the library because there was no way i could afford to buy one. You can film in HD or DV as to adjust the quality and memory usage, its Full HD as well, which means you benefit from the best quality picture that can be produced. The 6.1 megapixel camera built in is no slouch as well - it takes quick pictures that are up to scratch (almost) with my 6mp dslr so it makes for a good camera and video camera combined (Wathc out for thieves though) Aesthetically its pleasing to the eye, black sleek design thats comfortable to hold, however I have fairly small hands for a man ...

Rating:
the years the build quality is superb. Very ergonomic and easy to use, although the touch screen LCD may take some getting used to for someone who hasn t used Sony touch screens before. Another great feature is the option to switch between 16:9 and 4:3 as although no HD tvs are 4:3 it can add great effect if you are making a movie. Connections: - 2.5mm minijack - Mini HDMI 1.3 - Also the camera is supplied with a dock that provides USB connectivity. The camera can capture 8 hours at full resolution so should be plenty for a weekend away although for a two week holiday you might need to take a laptop and external HDD. The camera also incorporates 10x optical zoom ...

camera. The camera I had before this was a Sanyo Xacti, which I bought because it supposedly recorded in a computer friendly format... but that is another story. The Sony HDR-HC7E is a very solidly built camera. When you get one of these in your hand it just feels like you have purchased a quality product. Sony are known for doing this very well, giving the consumer loads of features, but for me, the pro-consumer use was very important, ease of use, and high quality results. One more reason for me choosing this model, was trying one of Canon s equivalents and finding that tape noise was actually recorded in the audio... not so with the Sony, the tape motor on this ...
