excellent value for money without resorting to HD quality. compact for storage and carrying. picture quality very good especially in very dark environments. indexing of videos makes finding saved videos incredibly easy, playback is superb as is ease of use, 1 handed operation no problem. Being able to record to memory stick or hdd makes it stand out from the crowd. in my opinion the best you can buy below Hi Def models and they only give you 30G or 40G recording space. i actually dont own handycam as my sister-in-law, i have used it many times on our outings out any occasions and must say it is a lovely camcorder, as it states shoot upto 41 hours of megapixel quality video and stills ...

my advice) it would be better to invest in one that actually has a hard-disk drive, rather than one that uses DVD or similar media. Eventually, he decided that the Sony DCR-SR52 was suitable for everything his ‘current’ model did, with many, many additional features too.
