Very high-quality imagery is assured with the 800,000-pixel CCD imaging system. It provides highly detailed, crisp video footage and brilliant still images suitable for print or Internet applications. Professional-grade precision glass optics delivers exceptional detail and clarity while also reducing non-desirable effects such as flaring and ghosting. Carl Zeiss lenses are synonymous with top performance and smooth operation. High quality Advanced HAD design CCD imager reduces noise in the video signal to improve signal-to-noise ratio by up to 6db (2x better than a standard CCD). It is particularly effective when shooting in dark situations. A built-in infrared system lets you capture video from up to 10 feet (3 m) away, even in total darkness (0 lux). Super Night Shot also allows you to employ one of two Slow Shutter speeds to increase picture brightness, contrast and quality. Control your camcorder on the Touch Panel LCD where you watch the action. Only a "feather touch" needed on the super sensitive, reactive screen.

We bought Sony ahndycam DCR -HC37e for Christmas and it was £142 at Cameras2U.com. We bought bag as well as it was a good bundled deal and it is really necessary. It is very easy to use. Commands are displayed on LCD and I found menu intuitive to follow. The only drawback is that screen can get dirty from fingerprints quickly. Battery life is decent for our simple needs (children playing, birthdays, holidays with children). My wife is using it without any problem although not very technically savvy. USB cable can be used only to transfer still frames/pictures from the tape to PC. You need firewire card and cable to transfer video to PC. Software which comes with camera is ...
