... live without it. It shows images in complete darkness. And what's great, you can take still / photo pictures too with the nightvision on so no need for flash. The sound is great, with Dolby it dosn't loose any sound at all. Great once burned onto DVD and using on the surround sound. Ok, so i decided to buy this camera, after my disapointment with another I recently returned. So, after charging it, i put the camera through some tests, to ensure I was happy with it, otherwise it was on its way back to the shop. The Zoom is only 12x Optical and 800x Digital, but this is more than enough for everyday filming (unless you do a lot of long distance recording of course) The LCD screen is big enough at 2.7", and it is touch screen, which is a nice techy feature, as this reduces the buttons on the side of the camera.
