Sony Handycam DCR-TRV828 ... can play back Video 8 and Hi8 analog video. Besides, the perfect recording pattern allows digital recording on 8mm tape1, enabling users to keep their collection of analog recordings. With the A/D conversion function, it is possible to transfer analog recordings to digital format.

The DCR-TRV828 model offers excellent capabilities for capturing digital images. Incorporated with Advanced Hole Accumulation Diode and 1.07 Mega-pixel CCD, the DCR-TRV828 can deliver best-in-class digital video with up to 520 lines horizontal resolution. Users can create short movie clips of MPEG1 up to 85 minutes and 20 seconds with an optional 128MB Memory Stick thanks to the newly added MPEG Movie Recording Mode.

honest they have been widescreen for a number of years now so why manufactures have waited so long to release a camcorder with a widescreen mode is beyond me. However Sony have finally done it and its great. I now record footage and play it back on my TV in the correct proportions without any of that faffing about with changing the aspect mode on your TV. Also my wife doesn t appear stretched on TV thus removing all talk about Does my bum look big on this TV Theres a x10 optical zoom which is more than sufficient for the average user. After doing a great deal of research I plumped for Sony's DCR -PC110E, a mini-DV camcorder packed full of features for both the amateur and keen hobbyist alike. It would be a good idea to read this review if you have ever considered buying a camcorder. The Sony pc110 is a high specification mini digital camcorder( images can be manipulated on your home pc) which I have found to be an excellent product. It has a 40x digital zoom; both in and output terminals for pc linkup; can take still images; carl zeiss t lens; usb connection; automatic pop up flash and a built in video mail mode.
