Advantages: cheap, small, HD recording, camera feature etc
Disadvantages: no tripod included
This is my camcorder. The Camilo Pro HD camcorder by Toshiba is remarkable in that it is a HD camcorder that comes in at around £100. I find that remarkable for a HD CAMCORDER. The camcorder is meant for the pocket. It is very small in size when compared to traditional camcorder and does indeed fit into my pocket very easily.
There are a number of functions on the camcorder. Firstly, of course there is video. Now, video is recorded onto SD memory cards (there is some internal memory but not a lot). The camcorder can handle SDHC cards and I currently have a 16gb card in mine which can store around 9 hours of video recorded in HD.
The camcorder also double up as a camera. You can either take stills from your videos or take your own photos using the camera button on the centre of the camcorder. The manual says that this camcorder can snap a shot at 5MP but on the preview screens display it says 8MP.
The camcorder can also be used to make voice notes. I don't use this feature much but it is handy to have the functionality.
You can also read and play MP3's on the camcorder through the SD card.
The camcorder comes with a number of extras such as the relevant leads to connect the camcorder to your PC, headphones, a travel pouch and a charger for the battery. (Battery life is pretty good by the way - you can get maybe 4 hours plus recording from a full charge.
One slight surprise is that this did not come with a miniture tripod as I might have expected - this is only a small gripe though considering the quality of the camcorder.
Summary: An excellent product considering the price.
