The screen is a good size and shows ok images - I've noticed that some shots in certain lighting conditions (really colourful sunrises and sunsets) don't look as good on the camera's screen as they do when they've been uploaded to my com...

... zoom, which means you probably won't even need to use the 3 x digital zoom. I have taken many high quality close-up pictures with the A820 and when placed on the computer they are flawless. The camera is also very good for taking moving and night shots. A special mode on the camera allows you to adjust shutter speeds for these very reasons. There are many modes on the camera, and you will always be able to find one which is right for you. Those of you (like me) who do not have a steady hand can use the 'Picture Stabilization' mode. The camera also takes surprisingly high quality video for a camera. The only disadvantage of this is, whilst videoing you cannot adjust ...

... a Nokia 6288 surpassed it and the N95 8GB I current have wipes the floor with it. Still, at the time it was a pleasant novelty! BATTERY LIFE: By being super-tight, I have taken approx 300 photographs with one set of batteries (Non-rechargeable quality brand). However if the flash or LCD is used, this greatly reduces the images. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS: Lenses and adaptors from ebay / china are quite useful, but to be honest they don't allow for spontaneous photos. NOT VERY FUTURE PROOF: As far as I know Vista probably won't support it (please check comments in case others know otherwise. XP is OK though, however the downside generally is that you need the Camedia S...

... saturates the colour, "museum" which automatically cancels any flash and "night" which produces a longer exposure. All the modes are easy to access but it'll take quite a bit of reading of the instructions to work out what they all do. My tip - play around with them taking shots of the same object in the same light conditions in each of the modes. It's the clearest way to see the effect but don't forget that if you change the lighting, focal length or any other relevant condition the effects might be different. That's the joy of digital though - it's cheap to play and get it wrong! If you like taking panoramic shots then there's a great panor...
