It's as heavy and bulky as an SLR, but as the 12x zoom lens is fixed it is impossible to get dust on the CCD sensor.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 ... is alot lighter than it looks and is available in both black and silver models, I have the black one and i personally think it looks better in that colour. It appeals to the passionate photographer as it has a leica lens therefore great image capture. The 12x optical zoom is great but ive not tried the digital zoom as yet. It has captured great photos at night on both the night setting and also when i turned the setting off. It uses SD cards which are cheap and a 2GB one can be picked up new on ebay in the region of £12. This size is worth having as you can get alot of images on one card even when set to the maximum quality. As its an old model it is currently only avai... Since I'm still experimenting with the digital process (printing via Photobox works for me) I like to see the results ASAP after I take the picture. Some highlights: - steadyshot really works - love the "magnify" on manual focus - easy to customise setting - great little viewing screen that twists & turns Some niggles: - the lens hood supplied obscures the more than adequate built-in flash - wide angle tends to vignette, even with the low-profile Hoya super pro polarising filter - the 12x zoom is great but doesn't focus close enough (approx 2m minimum), so using macro more often than I'd expect - Panasonic spares v costly (and ... Canon Powershot S5 IS ... technology, excellent metering and focusing systems, and my favorite, the flip-and-twist LCD display. 2.5 inch LCD- i used to have a 2.0, and that was big enough. Maximum sensitivity of ISO 1600, and an ISO-shift mode that lets you jack up the setting with a button press when the camera tells you the shutter speed is too slow. The camera itself is not too big- but the larger LCD has meant it is pow 4.6 in width. The S5 IS' performance is great. It delivers very good speed for its class. It turns on and shoots in 1.3 seconds, with a shutter lag of 0.5 and 0.8 second in bright and dim light, respectively. It can shoot consecutive single images 1.6 seco...
