The zoom in and out buttons are on the back of the camera, again obviously labelled with little magnifying glass icons. It s a 2x zoom, which is pretty standard. To the left of the screen is the quick view button. This lets you see several photos on the screen at once, instead of having to scroll through all of them. On the bottom ri...

... me that they could do what I wanted them to do. The Kodak kept coming up time and time again in the comparison tables of computer magazines, both in England when I was spending time there, and in France as well, so much so that I was convinced that I should buy one. I went to town in Plymouth and priced one up and the price was £265 which I thought was a little more expensive than I could manage. I then searched through the net for a better price for the same product and eventually found one at £210, printed out the advert and took it into a price promise shop in Plymouth where they honoured their promise and I got my camera at the cheaper rate. This was excitin...

popnfresh15 Olympus µ[MJU:] Mini Digital
... is black and not the standard silver that is smart, but too familiar. The full metal body and weatherproof casing make this digital device suitable for use in all conditions (nearly). The price, when I bought it in March, was about £130, a bargain for 5MP and optical zoom. Cameras of a similar calibre could have set me back almost £250!! However, now the price may have risen, I don t know. The 5MP camera really does live up to expectation. Now you may say "Wel...

... can t believe that after 5 years, I still own this thing. Perhaps it s a testament to the build quality? I remember shelling out almost $1000 CDN for this. That s about £450 in 2001. You can get these now for a tenth of that. In it s day the 3600 was a decent buy due to the 2x optical zoom and video mode with sound. Other manufacturers were trying to convince us that digital zoom was good too (it s not) and short 30 second movies with no sound would be okay (they re not). The two million plus pixels (2.2 to be exact) was a decent resolution at the time. Bear in mind that camera resolution today isn t the sole selling point anymore. Consider what kind of pictu...
