Fallenfromgrace Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3: ... received this camera as a surprise gift for Christmas 2008 and I am so pleased with it! It has the convenience of a point-and-shoot, but the versatility of a manual camera that I can carry around all the time! I am constantly pulling it out and snapping a few buttons to get the perfect on- the- go- shot! I am new to photography and so this is a great camera for me, but I know it s well liked by more experienced ...

... Canon Powershot Pro 70 digital camera, like the much more expensive Nikon D1, has more in common with it's 35mm cousins than with it's digital brothers and sisters. The Pro 70 bears a strong family resemblance to the EOS cameras in both appearance and operation. For many traditional photographers the jump to digital imaging and equipment can be almost frightening, I mean you are an expert with lots of experience, and all of a sudden you are in unfamiliar territory, asking advice from people who are young enough to be your children. ... small Easy to use exposure adjustment (+/- 2 stops Affordable Uses easy to find CompactFlash. I bought a 48 and 32meg card to go with the stock 8meg card. These three cards lasted me fine for a 1 month vacation of large/fine images. * It doesn't show blooming on extreme highlights like many digital cameras. * Very saturated colors, takes fantastic pictures of flowers. * 28mm equiv wide angle. I don't understand why digital cameras aren't coming with good wide angle lenses. A 28mm is necessary for reasonable indoor shots (a 24 would be even better). I bought the A50 over the S10 just for this feature. Controls make sense. I only needed the manual to find t...

bluechip56 Canon Powershot A50
... found the battery latch on my canon powershot A50 broke off after only a few weeks of use - theres 2 tiny lugs on the battery door that locate i t in the camera body I ended up fixing it myself as I was told it would take weeks to get a new one . The software that comes with the camera is very poor - it usually refuses to load the last picture off the camera - comes up with a system error and crashes but the rest of the pics are downloaded ok. I had a casio QV100 before and it was nicer to use but it has lower resolution than this one - it could also use standard batteries when the rechargeable one dies that the canon cant. i wouldnt buy another canon ...
