Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T3:
... is a very good introductory camera from Sony. Whilst it s resolution is not at the high end which would be expected on modern cameras, but still provides pictures which are clear and well defined. Colour representation is good, but sometimes the red eye reduction light can interfere with this. The camera is not especially quick, and it is quite possible to end up with a blurred picture, or an empty shot if you ... Read the full review: Sony Camera by Gaven |

Vivitar Vivicam 5385 ... was so excited to get my first digital camera 3 years ago especially with my first baby due. No more films, no more bad photos, no more spending a fortune on developing a film of 36 pictures only to get 5 decent ones. I was finally joining the real world! It is a great camera, 5.0 Megapixels and 3xOptical Zoom and a decent sized screen for veiwing. I am not very technical if i am totally honest but even i can work it. The menu function is easy to work and the settings also. The camcorder facility is good and the picture quality is very good. I find the flash a little lacking and slow to warm up and gives it a feel of non-digital camera which for me is a real let down.... Read the full review: No Vivitar voom! by rosieym |

Samsung Digimax U-CA 5 ... got this camera from my parents 2 years ago after they used it for several years themselves. It is a great camera and despite being a 5 megapixel it gets the job done. It is a slightly bulkier camera than the sleek versions you see today so it does take up more room in your handbag when your out clubbing the quality of photo taking is no different from the newer models. I have marked it down on ease of use as it is a little difficult to make sure you have all the right settings. It has a huge amount of different settings available to you when you want to take pictures which is fantastic as it gives you so many options with photography, but it isn t in the most logical o... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX7 ... is common with digital cameras in general, the Lumix was slow to rouse from its slumber, needing almost 5 seconds to wake up and get going. Once powered up, it happily reeled off photos every 2.4 seconds without flash and one every 4 seconds with the speed light switched on. I found the big LCD viewfinder was easy to use under medium to bright light levels than it was in dim light; viewing of poorly lit subjects was difficult. It did, however, work well outdoors under all conditions except direct sunlight. The built-in electronic flash fills the frame with anemic but even illumination out to about 13 feet at the wide-angle setting at ISO 400 and only 7.2 feet at te...
