Canon EOS 300D ... thought has gone into the design, which is simple, and easy to remember where the controls are and what they do. After taking my first few photographs I was amazed by the professional quality it produced. Image quality is superb offering a high quality sensor to catch all that detail. Images were detailed, crisp and clear, as you would expect with plenty of manual control. Even in auto mode, the camera coped well in various conditions. But i feel that the built in flash maybe could have been stronger. The high speed 7-point wide area AF with AF points are superimposed in the viewfinder. Rollei Prego dp6300 ... mine from "Ideal World" shopping channel at excellent price. As a confirmed 35mm fan with an extensive SLR camera system I had major reservations abut dipping a toe in the digital pool, but the Rollei hasn t disappointed me. Major feature is ability to take .TIF files giving best-quality resolution. Otherwise it s easy to use, can be fully point-and-shoot for the amateur or fully overriden for the cognoscenti. Nikon D70 ... Connection to the computer couldn t be simpler. A USB port on the camera means you can "dock" with the PC and deliver the images directly to the hard drive. Nikon s editing software is supplied with the camera to make life even easier, and the camera also supports compact flash cards that are simple to remove and install. 6.1 Megapixel resolution is more than adequate for quality image production, and the superb optics from Nikon/Nikkor lenses produce images that are superior to cameras with higher resolutions.
