Fujifilm Finepix F650 ... have been using this Fuji F650 digital camera for a while now. It is a compact camera. It is extremely easy to use. It has a macro setting for close ups...flash can be turned on and off. The zoom is powerful and it has 12 easy to operate scene modes. I took great pics at the fireworks display at a friends wedding recently using the fireworks setting. The camera has a great huge size viewing screen. The camera software is easy to use and downloading is easy to do. Its battery charges really quickly too which is a real bonus when you have forgotten to charge it. Fujifilm Finepix S6500fd ... camera has an excellent zooming lens, with an optical zoom of 10.7 x. I was initially attracted to this camera with its style, looking just like a really top-end sigital SLR. I have used this camera on many trips now and it has never failed me. The picture quality from this 6mp camera is outstanding and never fails to deliver. To many people this camera would be quite tricky to use because there is literally hundreds of available features that can be utilised. So I would not recommend it for the avergae camera user, it does come with a useful manual on how to use it to its full potential. Nikon D40 ... purchased this camera at a very good price when I was looking to first start photgraphy. I went for the Digital SLR (single lens reflex) so I had more functions and properties that I was able to change myself. For an entry level photographer, I would say it is perfect. With 6.1 megapixels it has a good range for what the beginner will need. The lens that came with it was a Nikon AFS 18-55mm. This has a good range to start with for average portraits or imagery. I have also managed to get some good micro shots with this lens.
