Olympus Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom:
... Olympus has everything you want and a load of stuff you dont. A bit like my Nikon F601. 8Mp gives a realy good picture. Best of the 8Mp bunch. However, digital even at 8Mp is not as good as film, but digital is the future, so I m told. But with raw files around 30Mb and JPG at 3.5Mb its going to have to do, as I dont want to work with bigger file sizes - ever! The camera fires up very quickly, but takes pictur... Canon Powershot Pro1 ... I have been a keen photographer for a number of years and have a full range of cameras, from the instant camera to the SLR. Until last year 2003 I was sold on the SLR and would not consider a digital as they did not offer me the same quality and control and the SLR. Then along came a birthday and some money to spend and my wife suggested buying a digital camera. I thought long and hard about this and did my research and eventually bought a Canon S50 (you can read my review on this camera). This camera was bought as it offered 5MP at and affordable price ? I was not disappointed. On holidays this year my wife dropped the camera and broke the LCD screen thus re... Read the full review: Canon Power shot Pro 1 - What a tool!! by mark1961 |

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F828 ... you buy this camera you should ask yourself one question. Is compositional freedom important to me? if the answer is no then get this camera. If it's yes then don't because of the following reasons. First of all if you look past sony advertising.. the only thing F828 lens shares with a true 200mm is the angle of view. It does NOT have the same DOF as a true 200mm lens..(you think just because u got an apperture of 2.0 that u will make portraits with beautiful bokeh?? think again.. you will not! A 50mm lens gives u good background blurr only at very close focus at which the features of ur subject will be distorted. It does NOT compress perspective lik... Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F828 ... have had several digital cameras, most recently a sony 717 as was looking forward to getting the 828. I am very dissapointed with the results from this camera, there is too much purple fringing on high contrast shots to be acceptable. The camera its self is very well made and feels much more professional than the 717. It has a comprehensive feature set, but until picture quality improves I cannot recommend this camera. I will be returning the camera and am looking for another one to replace it. I am thinking about a Minolta A1 or a Canon Sureshot G5 as this would go well with my Canon 10D (a truly Great camera !!) Hope this is of some use to you !! ... Read the full review: Very Poor Pictures, Otherwise Great ! by SJPSound |
