MrsE Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W270
... The screen is 2.7 inch LCD which is clear and bright (this setting can be changed so your display is bright, very bright or has extras on the display and so on). The camera was also very light and slim with the exact measurements being 56.6H x 97.6W x 22.6D On to the techie stuff, this is the basic highlights of the camera:- 12.1 Megapixels 5x Optical zoon and 10x digital zoom 11 Mb internal memory Wide Angle Lens HD Image Capture Face Detection and smile shutter technology Optical Steady shot 9 scene modes First off, I though I would give it a go without reading the manual. Never a good idea but I wondered how easy it was to use. Thankfully I managed to ...

jmason11 Canon EOS 450D
... purchased the canon eos 450d as a gift for my girlfriend over 12 months ago. She had previously not owned an SLR and after weeks of deliberating i went for this particular model, and oh how glad i was. The key features that lured me in was the live view and the abilty to utilise the hundreds of lenses available. We use the 450 more often than not for still images and have done paid work at family and friends weddings/christenings etc. The quality of the finished image is super and...

rooty Nikon D5000
... bought the D5000 as my first D-SLR. My choice was between the Nikon and the equivalent Canon EOS 500D; having used the internet and camera magazines, it seemed there was little to choose between the two in terms of features and specification. I headed for the shops to looked at both cameras and see how they felt in the hand. Although my hands are not huge, I found the grip of the Nikon to be much more comfortable. In the hand, with the stock lens (18-55mm) attached, the camera feels nicely balanced. A quick browse of the manual was enough to give a good feel for how the various functions work (having a compact Nikon Coolpix, the menus were somewhat familiar), although...
