Fujifilm Finepix E500:
... camera, in that Fujifilm took a slightly different approach from what was then the norm - a 3x zoom lens providing the equivalent range of roughly 35 to 105 mm on a film camera. Instead, the E500 offers a 3.2x zoom and a considerably wider range of 28 to 91 mm. Few inexpensive digital cameras could match this wide-angle ability at the time, and it does give extra flexibility for landscapes or interior shots, tho... Canon Powershot A410 ... Canon PowerShot A410 is perhaps not a camera you would consider nowadays, seeing as it has a resolution of a mere 3.2 megapixels, and in any case the A4xx range is already up to A480! However, if you can find one going cheap - I was lucky enough to grab one from the small ads for a tenner - you might be surprised at how capable it still actually is. It takes two AA batteries and SD memory cards, so neither of those essentials will break the bank. Do use high-capacity NimH rechargeables, though, as alkalines don t last very long! The A410 is quite small, if not down in the ultra-compact end of the market. However, it is not particularly slim, so is not really a camera... Canon Powershot A420 ... had this camera a few years ago and still own it now, yet it is only used when I don t want to break my other camera! Whilst it is a good, sturdy camera and takes brilliant photos, there are other functions which are not available, which would be useful: the main being that there is no sound or audio capture. This means that while it can shoot video, there is no sound on it, which is rather annoying. Also, the time it takes to take another photo straight after could be improved, sometimes it takes ages. The only other flaw that I could see is that it is rather old fashioned and chunky now. It is quite heavy and there are many digital cameras on the market now that coul... Fujifilm Finepix E510 ... not sure if it is me or the camera but i find it a bit hit or miss whether the pictures are focused or not. The main thing that goes against this camera is it just eats batteries at an unbelievable rate and alsways dies when you least want it to. On the good side it is compact and has the view finder as well as the screen which is good on sunny days when you cant see the screen well enough. The pictures are of good quality and the shutter speed is good, which is good when taking pictures of my 19 month old who doesnt keep still. i like the design of the camera and the way it sit nicely in your hand but i would not buy this camera agin because i cant afford the batterie...
