Vivitar ViviCam T328
by eriksatie
Now I bought the Vivitar T328 blindly from a television shopping channel, due to their ability to convince the consumer that everything on their channel is absolutely worth the price, and like the naive imbecile I am I bought this camera.
It has a good-looking touchscreen which is a nice feature, but the systematic layout of ... the options are not very clear, and the settings can be very inconvenient to stroll through. The optical zoom functions are very clear and there is no pixel distortion of any kind, but once you cross into the digital zoom section you can notice clear pixelating of the taken image, but like with any other camera within this price range this type of magnifying is to be expected, so I no longer even use the digital zoom qualities.
The auto-focus of the camera I would claim to be a complete failure on this product, 7/10 photographs I take when transferred to a computer will clearly be blurred and unusable, but when you do capture an unblurred image, the quality is very good and clean, which is probably the most positive thing I will say on this review.
All in all, I would not say this product is worth the price, but if you are a family on a budget who are not interested in high-tech clean images and perfect image contrast, then I'd say it would be sufficient. For anyone else, it's a no go. Read the complete review |

Vivitar 5190

I was bought this as a gift after mentioning to a relative that I wanted to start taking more photos. Unfortunately it turned out to be one of those gifts that you wish the person hadn't bothered with.
I had the pink silver version, it apparently comes in multiple colours, and to look at it's small and compact and looks like a ... nice camera. You get the usual accessories with it - usb cable, CD Rom to install the software onto your PC/laptop, pouch to carry it in.
The real problems started when I actually wanted to use it - it's 5 megapixels (in laymans terms that's not a bad camera, I've had some mobile phones with a 5MP camera that took quite good photos) but for some reason this feels more like a 2MP camera! The picture quality was terrible and the display to look at the photos on is far too small. In terms of functions - I couldn't tell you much about what else you can do with it for one simple reason: the picture quality is so bad that it doesn't matter what else it can do I'm afraid!
When you compare it to some of the mobile phones that are on the market with 12MP cameras or even 8MP, it really isn't worth buying a separate camera. If you don't have a mobile phone with a camera or just want a standalone camera - spend a bit more money or shop around because this really isn't worth paying for! Read the complete review |

Vivitar ViviCam T328

The Vivitar Vivi Cam was a present that I received from my parents for christmas one year. It didn't come with any batteries, but it came with usb and tv to camera leads for showing off the photos and videos you had taken , and with a waterproof case for taking pictures near the pool or undewater. It was an ok camera for just £50 ...
The box that it came folded open to show the leads, the camera ,a software disc and the cases. The very few pictures that I had taken with this weren't of very high quality because the rooms were quite dark and I later came to discover that it can only take high quality pictures in bright environments. The waterproof case is very good as it comes with a lanyard for securing it around your wrist or ankle, and the type of clasp on the lock is difficult to undo by accident which is also extremely useful.I don't know what depth it is waterproof to but I don't imagine you could go to the wreck of the Titanic and expect it to remain water-proof.
The USB and SD card slots on the camera are covered by little silicone covers which didn't stay in that well but are supposed to work as anti-dust plugs. The user interface on the camera isn't very complicated and I was able to use it without needing to read the manual for operating instructions. And sometimes , depending on the lighting, the white colour becomes a shade of yellow
All in all I would recommend this to a friend who was looking for a camera to take on holiday, but not to one who was looking for a camera to take professional photo shoots with. And I would also recommend buying an extra SD card because the Read the complete review |
