Advantages: Small, versatile, underwater options, cool & trendy

Disadvantages: Not terribly suitable for chubbier fingered friends

This little number was and still is my first digital camera.
Armed with a few hundred pounds just over a year ago and with plenty of time ( at work !) to have a good surf around to compare products versus price (to make a purchase prior to my impending honeymoon to the maldives.)
I was looking for a camera that was powerfull in that it had enough megapix to keep me happy, plenty of features to make me look clever, a good quality lense and pictures and most importantly was the ability to buy an underwater case in order that I could take some scuba diving photo's.
With the added bonus of looking and feeling like a trendy yet qulatiy product.
I have been very impressed with this camera and many thousands of pictures later I can find no fault with it.
There are however newer Ixus versions with greater mega pixels available, but these will inevitable be more expensive than the Ixus 40, this camera is now more middle of the road with the newer models available but I would struggle to find a better product for the price.

Summary: Compact Smart little number with great quality pics for the price.
