Advantages: small and portable, great pics in auto mode, very easy to use
Disadvantages: I haven't found any yet!
I chose this camera for my parents to buy me for Christmas having not really looked at the specs, but have been thrilled so far with the product! I had owned a Canon Powershot before this, and from the moment I started using it the difference was clear.
The technical stuff- (from amazon.co.uk)
--Compact digital camera with 8MP, 3x optical zoom and built in flash
Features include optical image stabiliser, face detection and red eye correction
-30 FPS VGA movie mode with sound and built in editing features
-Flash Memory support for SD, SDHC, MultiMediaCard and MultiMediaCardplus
-Includes rechargeable Li-ion battery
My experience of it-
The large screen is a huge improvement on my last model as it allows you to see the picture in enough detail to decide if you want to keep it or not without having to check on the computer first. It is quick to take the photo, which is essential when you have 2 lively children that you're trying to capture! I like how the picture adjusts to follow you when you turn the camera, though my husband finds that confusing!
I use it in auto mode, but there are other options if you want them.
Photo quality-
The photos I have developed have consistently been clear and in focus, and I am pleased that the red-eye reduction actually works, as a lot of camera's I've had in the past have failed on this.
My verdict-
If you're looking for a compact point and shoot camera that gives you good quality shots, then this is worth the money. I'm pleased to say that it even survived being dropped in a glass of water by my toddler....
Summary: Overall a great camera, straightforward to use and consistent in performance and quality.
