Canon Digital Ixus 960 IS

I bought this in november last year from Dubai where i halted for a week before going to India, i bought it for approx £185 which compared to the price overe here in london is quite cheap. This 12 mega pixel camera just caught my eyes as i was loooking for a good digi cam and i most of the times i prefer cannon. So i bought it after seeing the features of this lovely camera. The Canon Ixus 960 IS has a rather solid and sturdy appearance that truly screams quality and elegance. Upon holding the camera, you can feel the differences in the material and instant know that it is something of substance. Indeed it is, with a body made from Titanium. Even the mention of it would lead you to wonder the amount of physical abuse the camera would be able to withstand. I bought the IXUS 960 after lots of comparing with other similar cameras from different brands. Its features stick out as it has 12 megapixels, 3.8x optical zoom, 2.5" LCD screen, the ability to take 1024x768 videos (nearly HD!) and has a good processor. The camera is titanium coated - so it looks nice and is supposed to be resistant to scratch. The response time is fast - I have managed to snap pictures of the Red Arrows flying past! The video option is very useful too with 640 x 480 (VGA) at 30fps and 1024 x 768 (XGA) at 15fps. The camera takes MMC and SD cards which is of course a popular option - with cards available cheaply. I got this camera in March last year after upgrading from the smaller ixus model. The functions are fantastic. As an art and photography student I was so impressed with the quality and effects you can use without having an SLR - photographs look professional and as if they've been edited. I carry it with me at all times and think its perfect for those quick snaps of something beautiful as well as set up shots where you can use all the settings to get almost any effect.
