My camera didn't come with a carrying pouch (i think they do give them to you now though) and got scratched quite quickly and extremely easy so I would say if your going to buy this then keep it in the pouch. I bought this camera last april, and a year on it is still as good as ever. It is very small although a little wide, but fits perfectly in my handbag. It has capabilities for video camera as well as photo shots, and turns on in about 3 seconds. The only drawback to this I would say is that when actually taking a photo it takes a good few seconds before the shot is actually taken, whereas with other cameras the picture would be taken straight away.
